Notices: What are the differences between OLED, LCD and TFT?
OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) is an organic light-emitting diode. OLED uses a very thin organic material coating and a glass substrate (or a flexible organic substrate). When current passes through, these organic materials will emit light. The OLED display is driven by an electric field, and organic semiconductor materials and luminescent materials emit light through over-carrier injection and recombination.
LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is a liquid crystal display. LCD itself cannot emit light and requires a backlight layer to provide light. The liquid crystal is placed between two conductive glasses. When power is turned on, an electric field is generated between the two electrodes. In the electric field effect, the nematic liquid crystal molecules will be twisted, blocking the passage of light, and thereby controlling the transmission or shielding of the light source to the backlight source.
TFT (Thin Film Transistor) is the abbreviation of thin film transistor. Each liquid crystal pixel on the TFT display is driven by a thin film transistor integrated behind the pixel; it actively controls each independent pixel on the screen.
