Notices: The differences between TN, HTN, STN, FSTN, and VA LCD types?

 

TN (Twisted Nematic) LCD screens, the twisted orientation of the liquid crystal molecules is deflected by 90°. The display content is relatively simple, and the main features are relatively black fonts, high contrast, low power consumption, and driving voltage, but a small viewing angle. Common applications are clock products, calculators, etc.

 

HTN (High Twisted Nematic) LCD screens, nematic liquid crystal molecules are sandwiched between two transparent glasses, and the orientation of the liquid crystal molecules is deflected 100~140 degrees between the two layers of glass. The main features are similar to TN, but the viewing angle is wider than TN. Common applications are indoor furniture, medical equipment, etc.

 

STN (Super Twisted Nematic) LCD screens, the liquid crystal rotates 180~270 degrees in the LCD screen, the viewing angle is better, and there are generally gray films, yellow-green films, and blue films. Widely used in high-channel COB/COG, such as communication devices, etc.

 

FSTN (Film+STN) LCD screen, to improve the background color problem of ordinary STN, a compensation film is added to the polarizer to eliminate dispersion and achieve black and white display. Common applications are industrial instruments, etc.
